How can Acupuncture help?

Our clinic is proud to offer acupuncture to go toward your treatment plan. What is unique about us is the multiple therapists who are also registered or certified to provide acupuncture services.

ABOUT US

Some of our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are also Registered Acupuncturists (RA). Feeling the body with both fields of study for reference, allow these therapists to expertly advise in a treatment plan for you.

In addition, the majority of our physiotherapists and our chiropractor are certified to provide acupuncture services as well. These experts can evaluate your rehabilitation and determine if this treatment is necessary. They professionally administer treatment during the session to maximize recovery.

ACUPUNCTURE

Inserting thin disposable needles into your skin sounds painful, but in fact it is the opposite! Some patients fall asleep when receiving the treatment. During which, you may experience tingling sensations, heaviness, and slight soreness or numbness along the skin channel being stimulated (1).

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE FOR?

Common ailments that respond well to treatment include:

> Arthritis

> Tendinitis

> Chronic pain

> Headaches

> Pregnancy symptoms

> Menstrual irregularities

> Infertility

> Chronic fatigue syndrome

> Respiratory disorders

> Skin problems

> Dysmmenorhea

> Digestive disorders

> Stress

Furthermore, if the symptom is an energy blockage within the body, treatment can encourage the body’s natural healing response (1).

HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?

According to traditional Chinese medicine, this therapy believes that disease stems from disruptions to your Qi (energy flow in the body). Moreover, acupuncture stimulates points on or under the skin to release your Qi. Then, the Qi is able to freely flow through the body (2). In short, this balances your energy and improves blood circulation and promotes healing from within (1).

ACUPUNCTURE & INSURANCE

On April 1st, 2013, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) was established (1). This organization regulates patient reimbursement. Most insurance companies cover acupuncture. If you are unsure, you can check your benefits coverage. Treatment coverage may also be available if you suffer from a motor vehicle accident (3).

Insurance paperwork is a headache; an irrelevant concern when dealing with your health. Conveniently, we offer direct billing to maximize peace of mind.

In conclusion, if receiving acupuncture treatment interests you, call us today to book a consultation.
